They came for me, I think?

Last night, as I laid in the dark trying to count sheep and doze off, a strange memory came to mind. As I thought to myself, “Yo, remember that time you got abducted by aliens?” Suddenly a vivid remembrance came to me. “Damn, did it really happen though?”

Quick backstory before I jump in.

It was 2014, and I had just got out of the Army. I had served for a few years at Fort Knox Kentucky. After you finish active duty, most guys just go back home and do a few in the guard or reserve in their home state, or just go become a productive member of society. Me, being from New York City, had no intention of going home just yet. I was having way too much fun hooking up and partying with country girls left and right in Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio and Tennessee. I also fell into a few relationships at the same time, and was trying to get the maximum amount of booty possible while figuring out what I really wanted to do.

I had joined the Army just to get the fuck outta New York, and now that my time was up, reenlistment is not something I had wanted or thought about at the time. I saved my money, and got my credit up the four years I was in. So I naturally did anything a young man in his twenties would do. Buy a car. Get some jewelry, nice clothes, and get a decent apartment. As many soldiers do, I went thru a bitter divorce, and had no intention of getting into anything serious. But, I also knew this bachelor playboy lifestyle wouldn’t last forever. I ain’t a rapper or actor who blows it all then struggles. I knew better. So, upon going thru the ACAP program, the program used to help soldiers transition after the military, I set up my Post 9/11 GI Bill and enrolled in college. I even got a part time job as a dockworker at FedEx Freight for some extra cash on the side. Louisville was a perfect blend of city, like home, and country, what I had gotten used to.

So my days consisted of college in the morning, work in the afternoon, hook up with Chantel at night.

College in the morning, work in the afternoon, hook up with Claire at night.

Class, Work, hook up with Adelina at night. Lather, rinse repeat. I found myself in a few situations with a couple married women and their husbands, but that’s a story for another day. So, I’d get home around 9 every night and figure out what’s the move with the homies from FedEx or the military if my nightly activities fell thru. Or I’d just get a workout in at the gym and get some fried chicken after. (When you are in your 20’s you can eat what you want)

But this particular night, I was tired. Like I mean exhausted. I had just worked some extra hours at work since the holiday season was approaching. It was fall and getting closer to Thanksgiving and Christmas, so deliveries usually make a large spike during that time. So leaving work, I pick up some white castle and go home. I dropped the food on my couch and just flopped over to my bed.

Now me being a somewhat clean person, barely ever went to bed without taking a shower first. But that day I was exhausted. I didn’t care about a hot shower, just wanted to sleep. That’s when it happened.

I was woken up in the dead of night, and someone was in my apartment. I distinctly remember laying on my stomach and turning to the side and seeing a tall “person” standing in the hallway, with a rather oblong head wearing a dark blue jumpsuit.

First thought that ran through my mind was to reach for my handgun, a Walther PPX that I had. I remember saying out loud- “What the fuck are you doing here” then somehow crashing back to sleep.

The next thing I remember it was morning.

Now, I’m a very logical person, and dismiss a lot of paranormal things I see on the tube, and see them at face value. But this always kind of stuck with me. Sometimes, when you see things like that, you think well hey the first thing I’d do is move. When it happens, not really. I mean I don’t feel like my privacy was invaded, or if it had actually happened. It could have been a really vivid dream as I distinctly remember a lot of sharp details when it happened, as my hallway light being on and that “alien” standing there.

Nevertheless, I’ll always remember that incident, although it wasn’t the first time something strange like that happened to me…..
